Doubt: present perfect continuous

Today I was in class, and doubts were raised about this sentence: "I havent been going to the cinema for ages." Is it correct? Thanks a bunch!!

You just need to say: I havent been to the cinema for ages.

Edit: Or if you meant to imply that you used to be a frequent visitor to the cinema but you have stopped, you would have to explain that in a rather longer-winded way!: I always used to go to the cinema, but I havent been for ages. Or something like that.

In the US you can also say I havent been to the cinema in ages.
