Which is correct?
 
I am really puzzled.Which is the correct alternative in the following sentence: Look out ! You are going to fall or look out ! you might fall. Please explain your answer.thanks heaps.

Hi,

We can use going to for predictions based on evidence. The look out shows us that the speaker sees a dangerous situation. Therefore going to is the best choice. Might indicates possibility which is not appropriate in this situation since the speaker is sure and not guessing about the situation.

I disagree with the second part of Esther�s answer. I agree with everything except that "might" is not appropriate here. If the situation is dangerous, but falling isn�t certain, then "Look out! You might fall." is definitely appropriate.
