Dear colleague,
I need help with the following question please.

Identify the adjective(s) in the following sentence:
1. Some museums display sculpture and paintings.

Would some be the answer? If yes, why would it be considered an adjective and not a determiner?

2. These museums may focus on one special kind of art.

Would special and kind be the adjectives in the previous sentence?

3. Other museums feature birds, sea creature, dinosaurs, and other animals.

I see no adjective in the 1st sentence. WOULD is an auxiliary (a modal one).

In the 2nd there is only SPECIAL as adjective. Here KIND is a common noun.

In the  3rd only SEA (a common noun) can be consider as an adjective as it qualifies CREATURE.

Thats what I would answer.

Hello there Caren 630 Please consider my answer to your questions. You are correct to say that the word -some- in your sentence is considered an adjective and a determiner. Therefore, it is a determiner as it determines the number of museums that are being described in the sentence. It is also an adjective because it modifies the noun museum. Then, I agree with Maryse. Special in the 2nd sentence is also an adjective modifying the noun -kind-. Lastly, the word sea is used as an adjective to modify the word creature. Thank you Maryse.
