Need help from teachers in France
|
Hello, I am looking for help from the English teachers in France. I am helping my friends son who studies English in a French school. He is in 5th form. Next year and the year after he is going to attend an optional class LCE (Langues et cultures eurpéennes). I am actually looking for more details about this class and what they are meant to learn. Thanks in advance |

Hi , often it is 2 hours per week in middle school ( collège français) with more intensive use of English. It will prepare the chiild for a possible specialization in euro section in high school ( lycée). The best advice I can give you is ask the school where the child will be if you can meet / write to the teacher who is doing this class in your area. They will give you more precise detail about what they usually do. Best regards |

Thanks a bunch. I have been told that it is a laborious course and that it might be too difficult for non native speakers.

In French schools students are not required to be native speakers to attend LCE optional classes (as the level in middle school "Collège" is A2/B1).Above all, teachers ask students to be motivated by practising oral English and working in groups. They sometimes work on literary texts and most of the time they will be working on themes related to European countries and also the culture of English-speaking countries. The projects are varied. |
