Hi Victoria, I agree with you that the genki english is a great way of teaching. I watched all of these a few months ago. (for hours he he) I try to plan my kindergarten lessons (sort of ) along those lines. I am not quite as convincing as he is, but I do try.Tongue Do you teach small kids? Any ideas you would like to swap would be very welcome. I teach kids who cant read or write yet (the youngest is 2 and a half) so I cant use worksheets. I use alot of flashcards and games but need new ideas every week so it gets quite challenging after a while.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Yeti,
These are the things that children love to do ..............

1.change your games and activities every 8-12 minutes.

2. preschool children need variety as they get bored easily and have a very short attention span.

3.Vary the pace during the lesson, mixing up excitable games with quiet ones.

4.Make your lessons playful and full of physical movement.  The children will enjoy them more, be more .
motivated and remember the language better

5.Teachwith plenty of encouragement!

6. Play games where everyone wins, or where you do not single out a winner.

7.Bring in puppets or teddy bears and have the puppet introduce the new vocabulary for the lesson.

8.Use chants, rhymes and songs.

 Have a nice day,Yeti!

Hi Victoria, Thank you so much for all of that.  I have already discovered kizclub and find it great. I also use many stories while giving the kids something in their hands to be able to understand it. I also have many laminated story lines. (The hungry caterpillar and so on) I get lots of my ideas from www.dltk-teach.com I make many crafty things with them too.
My trouble is when I have finished the first basic things like colours, counting 1-10, animals and body parts... then I sort of get stuck and dont know how to continure into more complicated subject. I cant afford to buy lots of teaching material so I rely on the internet and local library. (I also allow myself a few books from Amazon when my hubby is not looking. he he) I am at that point at the moment and cant get my brain working for other subjects. I thought about making some kind of house (dolls house) and letting the kids put the articles into the house.... Still working on that one.  The you tube songs are great but... they just dont sound the same when I sing them.Confused I might have to buy the simple somgs one....

Thanks anyway for your lovely tips. I will use many of them. xxxx  My two boys are 10 and 12 now.. I cant believe how fast they grow.

Take care and keep in touch.
