Does anybody by any chance happen to know what idiom "couliflower ears" mean?

�cauliflower ears � is a medical term, of something that happens to rugbiers and other sportsmen in their ears....
I �m not sure it is an idiom...

Cauliflower ears is what happens when you come up on some one from behind and vigorously create a heavy amount of friction on their ears with your hands. It is similar to boxing your ears.  I hope this helps
