hi colleagues

I m teaching an elementary class in which students are very clever. because they have capacity for learning English easily, I exceeded the expected speed.I m going faster than the curriculum asks. I mean I m covering the 10th unit while I m supposed to be in the 6th or 7th unit. so I wanna practise the subjects I ve taught up to now in an amusing way. because my students are shy and not willing to talk much. I wanna make them more active in the class. so I need some reinforcement activities like games or whatsoever. they now know present simple and past simple; can-could was, were and other basic elementary knowledge.

what would you advise me to do? can you recommend any activities you have done successfully which I can download from this site or another?

When I want my students to talk in the classroom, I divide the class in small groups. That way, no one is really put on the spot in front of the whole class. I do the same when they present a project. Two groups present to one another and then I switch them around. They present the same thing more than once but they get better and it also gives me a chance to evaluate them and question them on the project without boring the whole classroom.

My students are a lot more active speakers when they know that only a few people can hear them and they are more willing to take risks.
