Movie Reviews

Hi everyone.

I need some help. I am a middle school teacher and am planning to include movie reviews in my language course for the 9th grade next term. Would you have any recommendations about movie titles that I can use for these reviews. I want the movies to be informational and thought provoking on which I can ask my students to think and reflect. Any movie review formats or links which offer help on the above will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Take a look at this site for ideas: http://invitro.tv/IFC/index.htm

It has  a lot of information. I would also recommend the movie Second-Hand Lions. It s a comedy, but my ninth graders write about physical and emotional survival of the characters.

Good Luck,
Carla

I made my 16-year-olds read "The boy in the striped pyjamas" and then we watched the film. I have difficult vocabulary list for the book (in English) and exercises for all chapters plus exercises to compare book and film. It worked! I will upload the material today in case you think it would be useful.

I ve used "Billy Elliot"  and "Jimmy Grimbel" and they were tremendous hits with all the kids. I just did a quick search here and found a few worksheets on these films.  There is so much to talk about regarding these films, and they are so inspirational for your 9th graders.
