Future Talk! Linguistic Objectives • The students will be able to use the “Will” future form in meaningful sentences. • The students will be able to use the “Be going to” future form in meaningful sentences. • The students will be able to practice their vocabulary. • The students will be able to practice their listening and speaking skills. Non Linguistic Objectives • The students will be able to practice their interpersonal skills. • The students will be able to build self confidence when speaking in English. • The students will be able to respectfully work in groups. Materials • “Future Talk” board game • Dice • Counters Instructions • Divide class into small groups, giving each player a counter and each group a dice. • Each group decides the order in which the members will play. • The first player throws the dice and moves forward that number of spaces. • In order to stay at the space where he has landed, the player must create a meaningful sentence in either form of the future tense as well as the information that appears on the space. If the sentence does not correctly use the future tense, the player must return to his initial position and try again on his next turn. • These steps are repeated by the other players. • The first player to reach the last space is the winner of the game.
