CLASS DISCUSSION: HOT TOPICS

Here´s a list of topics for class discussions. This sheet is divided into 3 sections: 1) Debate 2) Personal life 3) My future
It was created to help stimulate spontaneous oral conversation and interaction. That´s what I evaluate the most! I know most of you enjoy giving traditional in-the-front-of-the-class oral presentations, but any kid can learn a text, doesn´t mean they can function in English. Therefore, what I like to do, is pass these sheets to each student, divide each group into 4. So the 4 will discuss a topic of their choosing, and after 7 minutes (they have timers that I bought at dollar stores), they´ll switch topics. Each of them must speak, cause I pass around, and visit each team, and they are evaluated!!! Really effective. "Does it count sir" Yes it does! Now talk!! Damn you! (well, i don´t say damn) Enjoy!
