Past simple and continuous Past simple and continuous

This worksheet focuses on the use of past simple and continuous. It is fun because at first the students have to complete a funny joke, using past simple and past continuous. Then they have to act it out in front of the class (thus, you encourage reading and speaking). Then they have a dialogue whose lines are jumbled and they have to put them in order. The dialogue focuses on past tenses as well so the students are then asked to write four sentences based on it, to describe what the character was doing (thus you encourage writing). My students had a lot of fun.
