This is a great poem, The English Lesson, on the difficulties of English written by an anonymous native speaker. The poem deals with rule irregularities and pronunciation. It is able to make the most comfortable native speaker stumble in some places, which can be amusing for your students. I have included the poem, short exercises that require the students to use the poem and some background knowledge, an opinionate writing activity as a beginning to a speaking activity, and teacherīs notes on how to use everything cohesively.
