Grammar auction advanced
There are 4-6 teams - students can work individually, in pairs or even small groups.
Preteach vocabulary for auctions (going once, going twice, sold, auction, to bid, the highest bidder,...)
Each team starts with 100 pounds (use fake money or students keep track in any other way).
Start projecting (or reading out sentences) from the doc document provided. Students bid for the sentences one by one. The highest bidder gets them (cut them out into slips and physically give them away once they aresold).
Tell students that the should not spend all their money on the firt entence, but they should not keep any money by the end of the game, either. The winner is the team with the most correct sentences in their possession. Project the answers on the boad (2nd page of the document shows the answers).
