"Hooked on Books!" - Extensive Reading for elementary stds.: 1st 45-minute lesson of 6 (1)

This year weīve decided to read with our low achievers (A2 level) Newspaper Chase, by John Escott, Penguin Readers, Easystarters (200 words)- If you donīt have the book or the audiofiles, please let me know. Iīve started creating my lessons and this is the first one (2PAGES), which happens to be suitable to introduce any kind of story since the aim is to find out about the studentsī reading habits. Students first match the images to the fairy-tales and choose the one they liked best when they were kids. Then they do the quiz "I as a reader" and share their results with the class. Finally, they speculate about the story theyīre going to read through the title and complete a table with information from the cover and the backcover. Thatīs all they get from the story for now. Iīm sure theyīll have fun! We all love stories, donīt we? Have a wonderful Thursday. Hugs, mena:))))

Something new and interesting as well as incredibly cute, thank you dearest Mena. I always think itīs great to take any opportunity to encourage students to read. I, too, would appreciate the story and audio files if it is not too much trouble.
