How to Start and Continue a Conversation - Theme of Meeting Someone New (18 yrs +)
I use this worksheet to help older or adult students become more confident in asking and answering questions when meeting someone new. The sheet outlines polite questions and additionally prompts the students to respond to certain questions. This works well if the conversation is done with pairs of older students from different countries. Teacher monitors the conversations by listening in and guiding the students. Can be practiced more than once in the same class by changing pairs. I adapted this worksheet from information I viewed online (Reference quoted on page 2) I expanded the questions and responses and changed the format to reflect a typical English conversation when two people want to know each other better.
