A Fun Exercise to Encourage Students to Express an Opinion - How Did Hollywood California Get Its Name??? A Fun Exercise to Encourage Students to Express an Opinion - How Did Hollywood California Get Its Name???

I created this worksheet so students could practice expressing their opinions. There are three explanations about how Hollywood California got its name. Only one explanation is true (It´s B). The students read the three explanations then use sample opinion statements (on the worksheet) to express their feelings about which choice seems correct. I have used a variation of this with my students and they liked it a lot. They can work with a partner or in small groups. This exercise is suitable for intermediate/advanced levels. If you are looking to help your students express their opinions this may help you. Have a great day everyone!
