New year, new you
This is a sheet to help students think about what they want for and from themselves in the next year. Its not just about their English progress but a general life thing. I combined it with a letter to yourself exercise which the students will open at the end of the school year to see if any of their goals have been reached or if they have manag...

America introduction and Australia introduction
These are another two worksheets in the passport series (another two introduction pages). They are independent work assignments. The students must do some research to find the information. Its quite basic but good for low levels. I normally print in black and white and let the kids colour the flags as well!

Eartquakes 2: How to survive an Earthquake
This is the second part of my earthquake sheet. It can be used on its own as a reading but was originally intended to compliment the other half of the worksheet which practises the third conditional. The sheet doesnt seem to upload well and the first and third boxes are out of sync. I hope this can be cleared up when you download it. If it can...

Practising the past
This sheet practises the present simple in the negative and affirmative. Its very easy and could be used as a time filler or for quick finishers or simply to help the students revise.

Star Signs
You can use this as a reading. There are some scanning questions attached to the end of the sheet. You can also work with the reading however you like. I asked students to decide who their perfect partner would be from the star sign descriptions and also if they agreed that their personality matches the supposed personality for their star sign.

Spiders
This is the second of my horror story worksheets. The story is an urban legend which you can find many versions of on the net. This has been adapted specially for my pre-intermediate class. It can be used for reading for pleasure or maybe by giving pairs of students a particular story and then putting one student from each pair or group in a big...

Shop dialogues
Just a simple reading exercise for very young learners. They can join the fruit to the right dialogue and then practice them. I suggest introducing the dialogue structure (maybe with Can I help you?) and getting them doing mini roleplays before introducing the sheet.
