5 OF A KIND
This game is like Scattergories. Players randomly pick five categories (such as food, something you find outside, an animal, etc.) and 5 letters. They then must list a word in each of the five catagories that begins with each of the five letters. The game can be used for 2 people or a group of people.

CVC SHAKE (consonant-vowel-consonant words)
An egg carton is labeled with vowels. Wooden cubes (or relabeled dice) contain the first and last consonants of three letter CVC (consonant - voweo - consonant) words. Students place the vowel cubes in the carton, shake it, and open it to see how many "real" words they have formed.

VOWEL- GO-ROUND
Players try to use a vowel (a, e, i, o, u) to complete a word. Students discover that by changing the vowel in the miidle of a word they can change the word. Also good for practicing vowel sounds.

I keep reading about using "paint" to reduce the size and have read what people wrote, but I don�t know what it is. Again, sorry this has to be 3 files.

Alphabet Soup Making Words Game
A fun way to practice vocabulary! Players randomly choose letter cards and place them in the soup bowl. Players roll a die to determine the number of letters in the word they must form, then look in the bowl for letters that can form a word of the specified length. Other variations are included.

Under the Sea gameboard
This gameboard can be used with word cards, or any other type of game cards. Suggestion: Players take turns flipping a coin. Heads means they take one word card and read it. If successful they move one bubble ahead. If unsuccessful they do not move on that turn. If the coin flip is tails, the player can attempt to read 2 cards, and move ahead 1 or ...

NAME IT VOCABULARY GAME
Colorful board game and alphabet cards. Players move around the board by rolling a die. When they land on a space they choose an alphabet card. They then must name a word in that catagory (such as a place, a noun, a 5 letter word) that begins with that letter. Great for expanding vocabulary.
