Charlie Winston - In Your Hands
I used this song to practice future tenses and revise some bits and bobs of grammar with an intermediate pre-teenage group. Its a great song and here is a link to the video on youtube. I also think it would be great for discussion.

The Ugly Duckling
This is a very simple worksheet for young learners that I used after watching the Disney English version of The Ugly Duckling. The first exercise they have to match the family words to the picture and in the second they have to look at the picture and then colour in the happy or sad face and then orally make the sentence.

Conditionals practice game
This is a conversation game to get the kids talking about conditional. You have the first and the last line of a story and they have to fill in the story using only conditionals. E.g. I I hadnt gone to the ball, I would have met the prince. If I hadnt met the prince, I wouldnt have married him. If I hadnt married him, I wouldnt have gone o...

Cry - Rihanna
This is a simple exercise on the Rihanna song Cry - a specific request from my students. Ive just done a simple gap fill, focusing mainly on verbs and some other words that Im working on with my students, and a true and false exercise.
Hope its useful

Summarising verbs
This is a speaking activity to practise using summarising verbs.
The sheets should be cut out and then the students should match the summarising verb to the correct example. They should then use the verbs to report what was said. Suggested answers are included on the second sheet.
Hope this is helpful.

idioms of personality
This is a fun worksheet to practise some common British idioms about personality. Sorry about the layout of the pictures. I cant quite get it to upload right but you should be able to change them so they dont cut any sentences in half!
The next sheet is a (slightly polemic) text about what our idae of a hero is that you can use as a reading an...

An interview with the Beatles
This is a worksheet I made for a VERY beginners class (who are doing New English File). Its an interview with the Beatles...obviously bearing very little relation to reality except in the most basic details and Im doing it as a listening exercise. (Teachers copy on second page!) Its mostly to practise to be and greetings. It has a little...
