High heel High heels ?

Thank you all!

So now I understand that I should say:

* I ve just bought a pair of high heeled shoes (but  NOT high heels here)
BUT
* I m wearing high heels tonight

Is that right?

Hi Roclam

It depends on who you re talking too.

If I m talking to my shopaholic girlfriends for example it s quite acceptable to say that I ve just bought a gorgeous pair of high heels.  In more formal situations, or with people who may not be familiar with footwear fashions, I might say high heeled shoes instead.  I don t think there is a steadfast rule.

These sites use both forms:

Cheers

When a woman asks me what I think of high-heels, I tell them to try a pair. If they cant see the magic then they should stick to Reeboks.  Manolo Blahnik

heels, high heels, or high heeled shoes...it is all the same...just different levels of formality...if you even care...which I don t...so they are all "heels" to me!   Using so many ellipses makes me feel like a heel! hahahahaha!

Just be careful and not call them heelies...(those are athletic shoes with a inline skate in the back...:D

How you like my heels?  (Informal)

Do these high heels make me look taller? (not informal, but not formal)

Excuse me, but where did you get those fabulous pair of high heeled shoes? (Formal)

Jayho - Your cat looks like my cat!  Same expression too!

I m a croc girl....:D
