I ve just googled Bahamas. It s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Heart

@SSylv: you live wherever you want as long as you have enough imagination! I am currently living in Bahamas.  On the beach, under a palm tree.

I have a question: do people in Bahamas work? (I think it s like working in Heaven, and in Heaven nobody works! )

Wooooooow, you inspired me too! I have always loved the name Burkina Faso, it sounds like a woman s name. Maybe I should change my name to Burkina? What do you say?

Edit: And now I am the best eslprintables user from Burkina Faso!

Hello Ma,
Back to the difference between children and kids.
Kids is an American expression, less formal. Your daugther s teacher is partially right, my American friends always call their daugther and son "kids" because it is informal and there is a touch of tender motherly feeling in the  word "kids", I think.
In my opinion, I would use "children" while talking about children in general or about grown-up daughters/sons...

Czech mothers sometimes call their children "chicks" or "chickens" and I believe it is close to the American "kids". My mum used to call me and my sister "pipinky" = "my dear little chicks".

BTW your daugther s teacher is really strange... the meanings of those  two words are so close. She really shouldn t have corrected it...
Both expressions are ok...
