SHAPE WRITING - a fun and creative teaching idea to improve writing skills
I used this idea this Christmas and Easter with my sts and they absolutely loved it - all levels and ages. Its fun and effective, doesnt take a lot of time, and the effect is amazing.

LIMERICKS, part 3 - funny limerick story with 2nd conditional
This time I had fun with my own limerick story and used it to practise the 2nd conditional. Limericks are so much fun and they improve your sts intonation, pronunciation and vocabulary, so if you havent tried using them in class yet, try. Youll have fun!

pink-sober-lyrics and discussion
Fascinating woman, Pink, and a very interesting song! Kids are usually surprised when we read the lyrics through - they think its about something else and they never expect serious things from her(funny how image influences us!). Anyway, they have to fix spelling in the song, and afterwards there are some discussion questions about addiction in ge...

BEN 10 - the kids superhero
I dont know about you, but my kids have gone crazy over this Ben 10 guy. So I figured - why not try to use it to my classes advantage? This is a ws you can do in class, even without watching the cartoon in class, and it has lyrics to the theme song with tense fill-ins, a T/F exercise and one about the super alien creatures which actually needs de...

STARDUST - jumbled movie
I just love Stardust (Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Rupert Everett, Claire Danes) - it is fantasy, with such a funny and grotesque twist to it, and a romantic ending, s a proper fairytale should have. Heres one of my Stardust wss - this one is the jumbled story (retold movie).

COLDPLAY - VIVA LA VIDA
A great song which provides good background for grammar revision (tenses) and afterwards you can have a debate on how fame changes people... I found it very useful, and even added a writing activity later on about the fame topic. I was pleasantly surprised with the maturity of some essays.
