3 full pages containing part of an interview with the singer, 2 exercises based on the text and the song "Russian Roulette" performed by the artist with some of the words missing, so that the students can take a look at it more carefully, followed by questions. How is the Internet Going to Affect Our Lives?
I used this worksheet as a starting point for teaching will and going to. It is a reading activity that focuses on the idea that the internet will change our lives completely. First the Ss have to look at the picture and relate it to the title (it shows that our lives are controlled by a computerized system), then they read the text and say whether...

Past simple and continuous
This worksheet focuses on the use of past simple and continuous. It is fun because at first the students have to complete a funny joke, using past simple and past continuous. Then they have to act it out in front of the class (thus, you encourage reading and speaking). Then they have a dialogue whose lines are jumbled and they have to put them in o...

Make a Story Game
Group your students into groups of four. Cut out the cards. Give each group one of the pictures (just one) and all the other written cards. You place the picture with the card on the desk and each student gets four written cards. They play cards to make up a story about the character. The game ends when the story stops making sense. Then they hav...

Guess Who?
Students first have to read the text and identify the person described(the second picture on the second row). Then they have to choose another character and describe it. They can work in groups and the teacher can turn this into a game. When they have finished their descriptions, they can read it in front of the class and have their colleagues gues...

The Ugly Duckling
This is a two-page worksheet with a short variant of the story. Ss must first put the verbs in the brackets in the past tense form and then answer questions related to the story. As a final task, they have to write a short diary entry. My students liked it very much because they found it complex and entertaining.

Jason Mrazs Im Yours: Listening comprehension
Students must listen carefully to the song and identify the 10 missing words. My students loved the song and loved to sing along with it. This is followed by a short vocabulary exercise where students have to match the synonyms. Then a speaking/writing activity where they have to discuss what the song inspires. Have fun!

What do you know about dancing
A sort of general knowledge quiz that I used in my class successfully for a lesson having the same topic: Lets Dance! I actually designed it as a contest. Students worked in larger groups and the first that got all the answers right got extra points from me. It is really easy and fun.
