 Get your students to check their alaphbet skill. Here are some short words for them to practice using the alphabet. Get them ready to use dictionaries on their own.

 		 Really Big Word Search
 This is a cross word with a bunch of words from my year 1 text book (and a few extra). There are also some countries. I like to make it a group game. You can set a timer and the group with the most words gets a sticker. It could be a good assignment for when kids finish something early like a test.
