A Private Conversation
This is a simple narrative story which students must discuss and edit. I use this after we have done some work on use of adjectives, adverbs and interesting vocabulary to improve the quality of writing.

They must think about what messages different types of body language give and whether they are appropriate in an oral presentation. They indicate whether each is good or bad and explain why. Buying fruit at the market
This gives a simple shopping dialogue for speaking practise, with opportunity for substitution of different fruits. I use it in conjunction with flashcards showing different fruits and prices. Mine is set up for a student to practise with a tutor as the seller, but you could easily edit it to be for 2 students to practise together.
