Write Your Own Ghost Story
The students should answer each question (using their imagination) so that their answers form a continuous text. (That is, they don´t number their answers). It may be a good idea to brainstorm some suitable "ghostly" vocabulary before starting.
These questions should produce a story written mainly in the Simple Past, with some past continuous.
The questions can be adapted to introduce other tenses (the Past Perfect, for example)or to exclude tenses the students haven´t studied.
This activity is adapted from one I found in a book of teaching activities ages ago; unfortunately I don´t rememember what book it was from, so I can´t give due credit.
This worksheet can be cut in half to save on photocopies.
