It�s okay to eat garlic if you BOTH eat it.
 
I say stay away from (baked) chicken with the bone in it. Most people eat it partially with the hand at home, but it�s often not so acceptable to do it that way  in public.
 
(Whole) lobster and crab legs are also not the best.
 
Blueberry pie is also quite funny, you have purple/blue teeth later.
 
And I wouldn�t try anything "new" or "exotic", it might make you gag and that could be quite embarassing.
 
And one "sexist" (sorry!) suggestion: if you�re a woman and it�s an "all you can eat" buffet don �t go back for a third or fourth heaping plate of food--guys will notice and have misgivings (sad, but true).
