It is, you can use the word to refer to a group of persons..

The Spanish is a diverse people, the English are a brave people, and they both are peoples of Europe.

If you are talking about John, Mary and Jane, they are 3 people.

Best regards,

It should be "find six people" without the "s" at the end.

What if you are talking about Archeology?

The archeologists found traces of six peoples in the excavated area.

That is perfectly correct.

Hello, the word people is a collective word, we must write without s.
When we say: find six people is correct because people is the plural of person.
I hope that this explanation can be useful for you

"Peoples" is used only to refer to different groups of people:

Some nomadic peoples migrated from Europe to America after the Second World War.(it means - people from different regions or cultures)

The plural of person is people.

There s only one person severely hurt in the accident. Other two people are slightly injured.

When using in grammar we say "persons".

Beginners usually misuse the first and second persons (I and you).
