Yup, it �s boombox in the Pacific NW.
As for "CD player" or "tape recorder", they came in both versions (ones which played cassette tapes and ones which played CDs). I haven �t seen one in ages. The one I gave away last year played both tapes and CDs.

Here in Chile, it is called a "RADIO"
I know it is used to hear a lot of "inputs" but it is our culture to call it that way!
