Can´t this be used as a Remedial work with adult elementary classes

An English teacher suspected his wife of seeing another man. So, he asked one of his ESL students to watch and report any activities that might develop. A few days later, he received this report:
Most honorable teacher:You leave house. He come house.I watch. He and she leave house.

I follow. He and she get on train.I follow. He and she go in hotel.I climb tree-look in window.
He kiss she.She kiss he.He strip she.She strip he.He play with she.She play with he.
I play with me.fall out of tree, not see.NO LEG,NO KNEE

Hope you like it.Have a nice day!

For THIS Forum!!!!Confused????????????

Cannot this be used as a Remedial work with adult elementary classes?

Well harim I suppose that if YOU want to use it as an educational aid, then by all means do. I just do not think that it would be the first choice of every teacher to do so. I suppose that it would depend on what THEIR sense of humour or what their form of culture was , for one to be able to judge the "joke" to beappropiate or otherwise. But on this forum we must be sensitive to the feelings of ALL colleagues . It was just for that reason that I wondered if it was appropiate for here. We have already seen many culture clashes on this forum over sensitive matters. I think that we must learn from that and that we should "look before we leap". And yes ...of course I smiled harim but why did you ask "Cannot this be used etc.?", if as you then tell us in a follow-up post that you DID use it last Monday to great effect. Obviously you already had your answer? SmileBeats me! Cheers.

Confused I m a little confused. Is it appropriate for this forum? Some of the members aren t teachers and aren t adult, are they?

There are no taboos in my lessons and I don t think there should be any on this page.I used this joke as a remedial work with my adult classes last Monday and it yielded unexpected resuls. They could discuss a lot of grammatical points.

Obviously the answer to your question is yes. You have already used it so

that tells us that it can be used.

Which brings me to my question to you.

If you had already used it, why ask the question?

Or did you just want to share the cute story with us?

BTW Skudjova his is a teachers site so we should all be adult - or is it adults?

Mmmmmm.

As you may have noticed,I changed the title immediately after some negative reactions. The first title was"The communicative apprach from theory to practice"My intentions were to share a joke;but as a reaction to some posts,I changed the title. My message was clear:As teachers,we shouldn t be biased. We can turn rubbish into gold if we use our minds and "one teacher s meat can never be another teacher s poison if all teachers work out their brains.

Have a nice day

Hello, Harim,
I have lots of work to do, in a hurry, but I couldn t miss this post.
I wander why people are so severe, strict about human feelings, habits, routines...
Your poem is but a piece of everyday life, not only regarding to extra marital relationship, but also to one s way of solving sexual problems. There is no need to hide our heads. These things are here around us, everywhere and, probably, the ones who fear them are the first to be caughtWink

i have a class of adults, I can t have this poem in my class, just because they are very beginners, otherwise I am sure they would enjoy and laugh. It is very funny ( all those mistakes are worth a treasure for a splendid grammar lesson ) and the topic, itself, can be discussed in a warm environment.
I am on your side, there is nothing dramatic or porno in the poem. A piece of a certain kind of art - a good joke.
regards

As teachers,we shouldnt be biased. No, but we should be discerning.
So, wanting to have a decent atmosphere and present wholesome quality lessons is  biased?  I find this highly inappropriate.  Some topics are taboo for native teachers because they break social mores. I think teaching a poem that has a reference to masturbation is in VERY poor taste.
