"Who did What, Where and When?" - Writing + Speaking fun activity to practise all forms of the Past Simple -- Upper Elementary and Intermediate students
I got inspired by one of my favourite books when I was myself a teacher trainee: Fountain, Coursebook Elementary, by Jim Lawley and Roger Hunt, 1995. I consider this activity an excellent way to practise Past Simple in the Interrogative, Affirmative and Negative forms, using just at first the skill "writing" and then for the majority of the task "Speaking". I think it“s very motivating because it“s kind of a game - Students have to write down their score - for example he/she had to make 8 questions to get the first sentence the partner has buiild up, 4 questions for the 2nd, etc... In the end, the partner which manages to say the greater number of correct sentences with less questions wins. Have a nice evening, day! Hugs, mena :)))
