I wrote this article in 1998 for an insurance educator I worked for, and revised it in 2008 for publication in our school newsletter. I was finding the same problems among students (and teachers) in weak email writing, including leaving out a Subject, not proofreading, sending attachments but writing no message, etc. So I thought it was time to get the word out again on writing effective emails in school and work. I hope you find it useful.
