| | Negro Spirituals (Songs)
My favorite negro spirituals together with meaningful images that help illustrate what the songs are talking about. I use these songs when teaching my English learner students about slavery during black history month, explaining how the slaves often encoded escape messages into the songs they sang. My students enjoy learning English while learning a little bit of history using these songs. SONGS ON THE SONG SHEET: Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Follow the Drinking Gourd - When the Saints Go Marching In - Michael Row You Boat Ashore - Nobody Knows the Trouble Iīve Seen.
