To double or not to double the last consonant, thatīs the question! To double or not to double the last consonant, thatīs the question!

My pupils never know if they have to double the last consonant when adding the suffixes -ing, -ed, -er or -est. Thatīs why I prepared this WS with the rule first and then an exercise (with key at the end). Thanks to ladybirdīs comments I updated it and added a few notes for the teacher. I hope it will be useful.

Here is the improved version !!!!!         posted by ludique22
Thanks to Ladybirdīs comments :), I made a little research and added a few things on my original WS. I was right about Travel (travelling in British English), but I noticed that I had forgotten to say that you never double the x or w. So I mentioned it.
However I didnīt add the rule for focus(focusing or focussing in British
English) . I didnīt want my pupils to be too confused.
Have a nice day!
