Dog and Jeep - Story and Debate
This won´t be to everyone´s taste as it involves the death of an animal so proceed with caution. This is supposedly a true story as related by the Darwin Awards. Do the reading in groups, pairs or however you want. Once read, assign roles for the debate, stand back and watch the fun. It might be an idea to use with my agreement and disagreement car...

there is and are some and any practice sheet
A small worksheet to help elementary level students see how some and any is used with "there is/are" and to see how they are used. No explanation is given on the sheet. This sheet is to be used after the grammar explanation has been given. It can be used for question/answer practice and for consolidation.

I´ve been using this for about 10 years now and it´s a pretty flexible little worksheet. I use it to accompany a chapter we have to do with renting flats and houses. I normally start by going through the Estate agent´s key on the second page and then move to the first page which is used as a reading (for correcting pronunciation etc.) I then field ...

Phrasal Verb Bingo: Phrasal verbs with down part 1
This is easier than it looks and it really works. All my own work so you are free to alter it in anyway you see fit. How to play 1. Cut out the bingo cards below and hand them out to the class. 2. Read the list below the bingo cards aloud and tell the students not to take notes. Provide at least one example or get one of the students to pro...

Irregular Past Participle Bingo
Cut out the bingo cards. Cut out the word list and place in a cup or envelope. Hand out the bingo cards to the students. Take a word out of the cup and say its infinitive form. Students must shout back the past participle form and those that have it on their bingo card should cross it off. When a student has crossed off all the words from his/her b...

What was the Sentence? 2
My second version of this game. This is a timed conversation activity: There are two columns on the paper; one for sentences and one for conversation topics. Cut each section into strips and place both sections into separate envelopes entitled "sentences" and "topics." Students are divided into pairs and then one student takes a strip of paper from...
