Four Days In Verona
This helps students sequence the action in Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet. Theres so much action, often we forget that it all takes place in only 4 short days! This one has the first day already started, but you could take that out to make it harder/more independent. I have used this with upper elementary English learners through native English...

Modified Test on Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave
This is a modified version of my other test on Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave. Some of the essay question are in Spanish. Reading Response Log

This helps them focus on their connections and analysis of the story, not just retelling plot (though they have to do that too!) I think it is adaptable to many levels.

Romeo and Juliet Act 1, scene ii-iii Comprehension Questions
This is a reading comprehension sheet for Act 1, scenes ii-iii of Romeo and Juliet. My students read an adapted/modernized version of the play, but these could obviously be used with the original as well.

Mayan Gods Project
This activity can be used for Social Studies content, or for an introduction into pre-Columbian literature, as I use it. I use the same activity for another class on Greek gods (see other printable.) The students must research using encyclopedias a Mayan God/Goddess and then create a poster about it. I make them use the encyclopedias to pract...
