I have been meaning to do this one for some time now. A very complete phrasal verb exercise on the subject of the environment. There is mix-and-match, gapfill, bingo, an article with a debate plus debating cards and also a short practice for the reading and use of English part 4 section of the FCE exam. Answers are at the back.

Negative Question Tags
Although an elementary aspect to grammar, I´ve found students with high levels struggling with this. This is a kind of cue-response exercise. It can be done vocally in class or assigned as homework. It can even be done as a speaking exercises only with the teacher saying the questions and the students converting them. Answers are provided.

There is a little bit of grammar at the beginning but it is all laid out so, no need to spend time writing on the board. Alternatives to Very
Pre-intermediate levels for teachers who are fed up with their students say"very" all the time. A nice little dice game for them to practice the different ways of saying it and a few, short explanations of the vocabulary and usage. Extra examples can be added every class until they are comfortable with the alternatives.

Put the story in order
A little story I wrote for a class of police officers. It seemed to amuse them. Read the instructions and off you go! Works best for small groups. For bigger groups, get the students who need the most practice to read, while the rest are divided into groups to work as a team putting the text into the right order.
