One Word Two Meanings: 2
Back by popular demand! A short worksheet about words that have more than one meaning. Answers are on the back. The vocabulary box at the top of the page can be covered up for those with a B2 level or above. And yes, I know "murder" as in a flock of crows, isnt exactly a common word. It is, however, a fun word, with loads of potential for puns.

A short reading adapted to be like part 1 of the Reading and Use of English section of the CAE exam. The reading is about Indian plans to build a hyperloop railway infrastructure in the country. After the reading there is a debate with motivation cards for a similar plan to set up a similar transport system in Spain. Its best to do this in pairs. ...

Phrasal Verbs About Finance and Statistics
Another set of phrasal verb worksheets, this time related to finance and statistics. As always, there is a mix-and-match section which can be consolidated with a game of bingo before doing the gap-fill section. This is consolidated further with a story that is related in some way to the theme and then there is a debate that is related in some way t...

Phrasal Verbs About Communication
The usual phrasal verb project, a mix-and-match, gapfill, bingo game, a very difficult article, a debate related to the article, personality cards for participants in the debate, and finally a small section that resembles the reading and use of English part 4 section of the FCE exam. In Order To - Alternatives ways to say it
I sent this last week but deleted it as I was not very happy about some of the structures and explanations. There were also a couple of mistakes. I am quite happy with this version and have tested it a couple of times. There is a short dice game to practice it with the students.

Alternatives to Saying Wonderful
A short exercise in the form of a dice game that looks at synonyms for the word wonderful. I did this because I still have students that have the idea that "terrific" is a negative adjective, no matter how many times I tell them it is not. This can also be linked to non-gradable adjective exercises.

Irregular Past Verb Practice Illustration
Thanks to Bruna Dutra for her notebook template. Use this as you see fit. This is a speaking aid. I tend to get the students to ask, "What did she do on Monday the First?" hoping that they respond with, "She took the train to London." It can also be used to practise auxiliary verbs in the past; e.g. "Did she take the train to London on Monday the 1...
