Soyang (A wild animal by day, a furry giant by night)
This story was adapted from a mythical creature among the Bajau community. The Bajau community believed that Soyang was a supernatural creature that could transform to wild animals during the day and his most common animal forms were deer, elephant and rhinoceros. It was likely that Soyang could only transform to animals that were native to the Island of Borneo since he originated from the same island. However, Soyang’s true form was a humanoid giant known for its long and big furry legs that were sensitive to any living things that came in contact with. It only returned to its giant form by dusk before turning to animals by dawn on the next day as the cycle repeated itself on daily basis. Soyang was believed to be wild and therefore, people were advised to avoid it at all cost. There are questions in this material. It was written by Sirhajwan Idek.
