The 25 most common verbs in English
First they unscramble the verbs and then they fill the gaps with the right one. Each is used once only. You could remind them about adding ´s´ with the third person.

Spot the Differences
This is designed for pair work. One partner has card A, the other card B. They take turns to ask each other the questions and note the answers. They must not see each other´s card. At the end, they compare answers to find the differences, which are Numbers 1,6,7,9,11. Then they write them up.

Follow the instructions to draw a picture

How did you do in 2016?
The students complete the quiz, then fill in the grid with their New Year´s resolutions. You could get them to write a sentence for each of the 17 questions, based on their answers e.g. I always tidied my bedroom.

Bertie the dog rescues Fluffy the kitten
A short heart-warming story based on an interactive card by the fabulous Jacqui Lawson (link included). After reading the passage, the students match up the sentence parts, then they replace the verbs. The key to the match-up is at the bottom of page 2.

How did you do this year?
It´s the end of the academic year in some parts and a chance for the students to have a bit of self reflection time. The language used is the language of assessment and although I have prepared this for native speakers, I hope it might be useful for some of you.
