The web is too enormous for anyone to know what is happening to our wss once they are posted.
We all joined to share and exchange ideas and wss. Just keep that in mind.

Hi to you all! Hi dear mar and katiana! I can understand how upset you are, but I really cannot see the point why you �re not contributing anymore.
I have also asked victor on the forum to delete the accounts of those who took our work to their blogs without permission. However, those members have apologised, one here and the other one by mail, have removed the worksheets, and, in my case, I must say I accepted the appologies. Once I did that, it makes no sense anymore to ask victor to delete their accounts. After all, they have recognized their big mistake and apologised for it. So why not give them a chance? Why insist on cancelling their accounts? Because, if I understood you well, you �re not contributing because victor hasn �t taken any measures against the members who are the owners of the mentioned blogs. Am I right, or am In missing something here?

Hi everybody
I have to say that I really understand Katina �s and Mar �s stand about this situation. We are not talking about someone who shares her/his work once in a week or month, we are talking about friends that share their work with us everyday. We all love their work, we download it and use it in our classrooms so the least thing we could do is that we support them and tell them that we are on their side. Mar is also right about what she said. she didn �t do this only for her own sake and because her work was stolen. Many members � wrok was stolen and I think she told everyone about it including me.
I really feel sad to see that Katiana, Mar and others won �t share their work with us anymore, not because I �m greedy to have their work but because I will miss the things I learn from them each day.
I think there are a lot of people who don �t care if we stopped sharing our work but at least we will make a point or maybe we will change our minds.

Dear Mar and Katiana,
and everybody,
There will always be pirates to hunt down treasures. This is the real world! Mar and Katiana, I understand your frustration and I know only time can heal the wounds. It will, in the end... You have the right to be upset and to stop contributing. I do hope that it will be only for a while.... until you come to peace with living in a crazy world.
On the one hand, it is true that the bloggers have stolen your Ws but, on the other hand, they stole only great contributions - which means your work is really something! You know that!
A good thing is that proving unity, we have succeeded this time - the Ws were deleted! If we stick together, we can fight and we can win, maybe not every battle, but the war! Tha war against ignorance!
I adhere to Svetlana �s point of view: we must be ready to take risks once we go public. I also adhere to Libertybelle �s point of view - we shouldn �t let some jerks destroy what we have created here. As Caroline said, it is more to this site than the sharing of Ws!
Mar and Katiana, both of you already have so many friends here, on ESLprintables. We are always going to be there for you!
What doesn �t kill us, makes us stronger!
I �ll keep sharing: ESLprintables is the best thing that happened to me since I started teaching! It is an endless resource of brilliant ideas and ready made Ws and games to brighten up my classes.

The members you are talking about appologized to whom? Maybe they sent you their appologies and told you that they are sorry but I think Katiana, Mar and others even me we didn �t get any appolgies. I don �t feel so bad because I didn �t get this appology but it I think Katiana and Mar and others do feel bad because a lot of their work has been put in the blogs without their permission.

Are we going to leave the site bcz our wss were published somewhere else without our permission?
Let�s use some logic please. We already share one point of view which is that publishing someone�s ws without getting their permission is a type of stealing and misappropriation. We all hate this evil deed. Does anyone in the world like stealing? Of course not. Even a thieve himself doesn�t like his property to be stolen by whomever. But can we get rid of stealing for good? The answer is yes and no.
Yes, if we issue a clear and strict rule regarding this matter in question, which can allow us to sue whomever breach this rule. Certainly this will protect our wss from any misuse. However, this may be costy as Victor will have to pay for the registration of the copyright and so.
No, if Victor simply doesn�t issue the above mentioned rule and then register it.
Well, what if Victor is unable to register that rule ? (I don�t know if it is already among the site rules since we don�t have a rules section in the site) Are we going to leave the site bcz our wss are being misused by some dishonest, cunning opportunists? Do you think that we are the only ones who suffer from this on the net? Don�t you know that there are hundreds of ESL websites on the net? Do you think that their situation is better? There are hundreds of ESL websites but there are also thousands of thieves roaming the net every hour and as gabitza said: Thieves are always there - were - and will always exist.
For me, I�m not going to leave the site bcz some thieves may steal my wss and use it for their benefit. Since I signed up to this site and accepted to upload my wss there, then I knew that my wss are going to be used by the good people and the bad ones alike. You just can�t stop it. I just take it for granted now since my main concern is the benefit of the good teachers and students and not the thieves.
I just don�t care if I spend a lot of time and effort to make a ws to help some teachers and students, then someone misuses this ws. I neither have dreams to be famous nor do I wait for people to praise me for my work. This doesn�t satisfy my soul, rather I�m satisfied when a teacher uses my ws in his/her class and helps students learn better.
So dear thieves!! Take my ws or leave it, I�m not going to leave the site! I�ll be happy if you leave my wss and be so upset if you misuse it but I�m not going to leave the site! If I leave the site, the bad will win the battle. Stopping me from sharing contributions with the others, which is a good thing, simply means that the bad will win. So let�s make sure that the bad doesn�t win!
So plz Mar and Katiana just come back! And if you don�t come back I�ll go....

I just got here and don�t have anything new to add. It would be a shame to lose some of our most valuable contributors because of a few unethical people. I understand their feelings but I also realise that the Internet is kind of an open and free territory. We don�t have much control over any material that falls in the web but, maybe, if we all keep a watchful eye and act like Marc Coxx does for ms-english, we could find out blogs using eslprintables material and notify them. That blog was disabled and vigilant eslprintable members could certainly disable others. |

Well, if you ask me Silke is (almost) spot on - except re copyright... but I won �t go into that because no one seems to pay attention to roneydirt or myself on that issue anyway...
Anyone who wants to �take their ball & go home � is quite welcome to!
Grow up, realise that no matter how much you talk & complain that it will make no difference if you don �t take regular concerted action - like has been done in some cases by commenting on & contacting the people who are using your documents without permission.
Victor does not have legal rights over your uploads - the person who created the original document has the legal rights to do something. You may not be able to sue someone to seek retribution/reparation/compensation... but every time any one of us sees something that is not right we should comment, contact & follow it up with the person who has misappropriated another member �s hard work.
I �ll shut up again now... especially as no one will take any notice anyhow.
Continue with the yammering!
