Im a Brit living in Spain teaching English because thats all I could find over here. I like it though. I also upload my worksheets on ISL Collective, normally a day or two after I have done so here. br You can order my books by pasting this into the browser: https://www.amazon.es/Dale-Bates/e/B08QD5M5PQ?ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1&qid=1613573760&sr=8-1

Phrasal Verb About Leisure: A2.3 level
A worksheet for preintermediate/intermediate (A2.3) students that gives 12 phrasal verbs on the subject of leisure. Not as complete as my higher level worksheets but there are two games for this one, bingo and snap. There is no story or debate for this worksheet. Answers are at the back.

One Word Two Meanings
A short worksheet about words that have more than one meaning. These words tend to keep coming up, as do many others, so I thought I would do something to consolidate the vocabulary. Answers are on the back. The vocabulary box at the top of the page can be covered up for those with a B2 level or above.

Engineering English - Atmospheric Railway Vocabulary Project
I did this for my group of engineers and they seemed to really enjoy it. The best part is the follow up section where they have to work in pairs to explain how it could be done with todays technology and material. Answers included for the vocab section. This compliments my Phrasal Verbs on Leadership exercise that has a section on Brunel and a deb...

Lets Go Shopping! - Picture matching - dice game - role-play
A rather complete exercise on shopping which can be used for consolidation after teaching the vocabulary and grammar involved for shopping. It has a picture matching exercise that talks about the products and their quantities (a box of, a dozen, a packet of, etc.). Its designed to be done in pairs with student A filling out his/her worksheet and s...

What are they going to do?
A small worksheet on predicting what people are going to do. Pre-teach the structure of "going to do something" and then get each student to tell you what each person in the pictures is going to do. You can use simple questions to consolidate and then get them to write complete sentences for each picture as homework. Answers are on the back.

Alternatives to Saying Wonderful
A short exercise in the form of a dice game that looks at synonyms for the word wonderful. I did this because I still have students that have the idea that "terrific" is a negative adjective, no matter how many times I tell them it is not. This can also be linked to non-gradable adjective exercises.

Elision and Linking for Past Regular Verbs (part 2)
An exercise that is kind of connected to connected speech, if that makes any sense. Part one was more difficult so I have simplified it for mid-A2 level students. Answers at the back. I have found this helps when the students are trying too hard to pronounce every consonant when it just isnt necessary. Please let me know if there are any mistakes.

Telephone Connection Dice Game
Select two speakers, one blue and the other yellow. They throw a dice first and then speak the line that corresponds with the number. The speakers move through the list alphabetically. After they finish, another couple start. When everyone has finished, compare how different the conversation was in content but how similar in context. Different numb...
