Follow the instructions (prepositions practice)
The students must follow the instructions to complete the rooms. Then, I get them to compare their finished pictures with a partner and discuss any differences. Next they are given any three of the diagrams and they write descriptions. I got the pictures from clker.com apart from the last one; don�t know where that�s from.

Writing practice
Some practice with putting a piece of writing together. Here, we look at powerful verbs, adjectives and adverbs and connectives. I have colour-coded the help boxes and hope it will be clear what to do. Students can then compare their versions.

Writing practice: very short stories!
First, they match up the beginning and ending of the �stories�. I get them to work on these in pairs. Then, in individual work, they choose one and expand it into a full paragraph. An example is given Key is included for the match-up.

Pair work activity: follow the instructions and draw...
The students work in pairs. Each pair has one picture of the house and either part A or part B. Then, they follow each other�s instructions. Or, this can be done as a running dictation, with the A and B cards pinned up on the wall. A fun activity!
