The Old Man and the Little Cat: an Aesop�s fable
They have to put the verb into the right tense and then do the T/F. Good old Aesop, you could never get enough of him, never in a million years! Key included.

Read the passage, (an unhappy mermaid falls in love with an unhappy boy;-)))then answer the T/F activity and the questions. They could then write up a paragraph about what happens next.

Follow the instructions (prepositions practice)
The students must follow the instructions to complete the rooms. Then, I get them to compare their finished pictures with a partner and discuss any differences. Next they are given any three of the diagrams and they write descriptions. I got the pictures from clker.com apart from the last one; dont know where thats from.

Some practice with putting a piece of writing together. Here, we look at powerful verbs, adjectives and adverbs and connectives. I have colour-coded the help boxes and hope it will be clear what to do. Students can then compare their versions.

Pair work activity: follow the instructions and draw...
The students work in pairs. Each pair has one picture of the house and either part A or part B. Then, they follow each others instructions. Or, this can be done as a running dictation, with the A and B cards pinned up on the wall. A fun activity!
