These are real exchanges, taken from the net - people giving silly answers to seemingly straightforward quiz questions. The students read the excerpts, have a laugh (hopefully!) then answer the questions. (I have included the right answers to the questions!) Mona Lisa vs Medusa
Making comparisons/ drawing analogies is a great way to teach EAL. This made a great lesson and so I continued with more comparisons: Harry Potter vs Gandalf, Batman vs Jack Sparrow etc. Great fun, great for language development.
