This is a true story, with plenty of youtube links- search �bear saves crow�. I�ve written it in the form of an Aesop�s fable. There is a message for them to unravel about who Aesop was. This will suit upper-intermediates.

Picture-based discussion: should the burka be banned in public places?
My students have to reflect on each picture - what point is each making? - make notes and then I give them a card with �for� or �against.� They have to give a presentation putting forward that point of view. Lively topic! By the way, it can be spelt �burka� or �burqa�.
